There are five bicycles in the house for easy riding along the towpath.. The towpath has recently been renovated as a voie vert, making the surface much easier for walking, cycling or riding. Horse riding is available nearby and the town has a swimming pool, tennis courts and canoeing.
The Crown Blue Line, the leading holiday boat hire company, (www.crownblueline.co.uk) has a busy base in le Mas D’Agenais where you can hire out a boat to explore the waterways of the canal, the Baise and the Lot. The combination of a week or so in the house and a week on the Canal is perfect. A week’s sailing takes you from Le Mas to Lustrac or Moissac and Nerac.
There is excellent swimming in the Lot at Clairac which has a river beach. The nearby town of Casteljaloux has thermal baths, a huge swimming pool complex and the Lac de Clarens which has swimming, golf, restaurants and other facilities.
